1504 Town Fort :- India’s Most Mysterious and Haunted City
Bhangarh Fort, located in Alwar, Rajasthan, is also remembered in history and folklore as the ‘1504 Town Fort’. Surrounded by the Aravalli hills, this fort was once a highly prosperous and sprawling township inhabited by thousands of people. However, due to a powerful curse by a sorcerer, the entire city was destroyed and deserted overnight. The ruins of ancient marketplaces, royal palaces, and hundreds of houses still stand here today, but curiously, none of them have roofs. According to strict regulations by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), staying inside the fort premises after sunset is completely prohibited, as eerie and unnatural sounds are still reported here once darkness falls.
