- The Name Change :– During his Malwa military campaign, the Afghan ruler Sher Shah Suri captured this strategically positioned fort. He renovated the structures and renamed it ‘Shergarh’ after himself. However, in local epigraphs and history, it is still proudly called the Kashwardhan or Kushvardhan Fort.
