Achalgarh Fort is located atop the Aravalli hills, about 11 kilometers from Rajasthan’s only hill station, Mount Abu. Originally built by the Paramara rulers, it was reconstructed and renamed ‘Achalgarh‘ in 1452 AD by the legendary ruler of Mewar, Maharana Kumbha. The fort held immense strategic importance as it allowed for surveillance over the borders of Gujarat and Marwar. It is renowned for both its natural beauty and religious significance.

Exterior Architecture :– Built on high hills, the fort has a steep ascent. The main entrance is ‘Hanuman Pol‘, constructed with massive stones, followed by ‘Champa Pol‘, which leads to the inner sections. Its walls still stand as a testament to its ancient strength.

- Achaleshwar Mahadev Temple :– Located just outside the fort, this temple is unique as it is the only place in the world where the toe of Lord Shiva is worshipped. It features a natural pit known as ‘Brahm Khadd’.
- Pittalhara Jain Temple :– This temple houses a massive idol of Lord Adinath made of five metals (primarily brass).
- Mandakini Kund :– A beautiful reservoir lined with statues of Paramara rulers and carved pillars.
